The ZAS5P-2 is a cigarette burner provided with a monoblock of cast Zn-S-Al. The objective of the test was to confirm earlier test results with the addition of 10% aluminum.
As in previous tests with cigarette burners the throat was 8 mm or a ratio of Ap/At of 44. Earlier test (ZAS5-1 en ZAS5-2) have indicated that an Ap/At of 29 is still possible for a good functioning.
The motor has the following characteristics :

The propellant grain was manufactured through melting in an oil bath.
The nozzle is composed of 3 parts:
- 1. a convergent section of 20° (half top angle) made from steel
- 2. a throat section made from graphite inserted in an aluminum tube of 40 mm diameter
- 3. the divergent part with an half outlet angle of 9° and outlet diameter of 44 mm.
Silicon was used to seal the different parts.
